Background
Situated 10km from Martigny in the commune of Bagnes, Verbier is a winter sports resort and part of the ski area of 4 Valleés. Known for its good climate and magnificent setting, the town attracts a high number of ski afficionados courtesy of its many hotels and chalets which can welcome up to 25,000 guests. This hospitality also allows Verbier to organize big sporting events such as the Ski World Cup and the Paragliding World Championship as well as the Tour de France.
The town began to be developed at the end of the 1930’s in a traditional style which it maintains to this day. Verbier is almost completely composed of chalet style properties which only add to the charm, giving it the appearance of a large village.
Verbier has developed over the years into a major destination for both winter and summer sports with numerous well-maintained pistes, hiking trails, mountain bike routes and golf courses. The town also offers excellent amenities with its bars and restaurants being the best place to wind down after a busy day exerting yourself on the slopes.
