London
Overview
The huge, sprawling metropolis that is London can be daunting to consider. Encompassing over 607 square miles and 2000 years of history, and home to 8 million inhabitants speaking more than 300 languages it is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. Founded by the Romans, London has grown over the centuries as small settlements and villages began to expand and merge. This means that the districts which form the city today have their own history and personality, and it is also the reason why often the dividing lines between them overlap. Many neighbourhoods retain this village atmosphere and each district’s individuality means that there is something for everyone.
