Concorso Ippico Internazionale di Roma (May)

Rome’s International showjumping event recently celebrated its 80th anniversary and takes place each spring. Rome’s high-society and Italian celebrities head to Piazza di Siena in the leafy park of Villa Borghese for the prestigious event.

Stagione Estiva del Teatro dell’Opera (June/July)

The Opera Theatre of Rome’s summer season takes place on a open-air stage set  amongst the spectacular ruins of the 3rd century Bathhouse of Caracalla. With a programme of extravagant operatic productions and picturesque ballets, it is an unmissable occasion for lovers of opera and dance.

Estate Romana (June – Sep)

In the summer months the streets and squares of Rome really come alive with various initiatives, concerts and exhibitions. The whole thing comes under the umbrella of the Estate Romana (Roman Summer) with popular events including outdoor cinema projections on the Tiber Island, gastronomic stands and bars along the river bank and special concerts near the Colosseum.

Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma (Oct/Nov)

Founded in 2006, the Rome Film Festival is now a well established event in the Eternal City. Combining screenings of arthouse and independent films with more mainstream offerings, the festival celebrated both Italian international films. In recent years the festival has gained further exposure with the presence of major stars and celebrities.
